It was 40 feet long and 3 feet tall, I’ve never been so dirty. It was brutal, I’m exhausted.

The foundation layer of wall

Dry stacking limestone is a tedious and frustrating construction method. Lots of hammering and chiseling. Also, fun fact, limestone is heavy. The horrifying part is that the full wall is 350 feet long and 9.5 feet tall. There are 13 of us working on it, we’ll be lucky to finish it.

Have today and tomorrow off. This is my weekend, I work in a restaurant. It is closed Monday & Tuesday.

It has its up and downs. I will start at 1:00pm, do 3 hours of prep for a 4:00pm open. At 10:00pm the doors close and no more orders. Once the final order is out I clean, put all the food away. I be lucky to leave by 11:30pm. I get home and smell like only god knows what.

Can’t be as bad as Pork, Chicken, Beef, Fish, and fries. Don’t forget the sweat, and grease on top of that. At work I don’t smell it, as soon as I get in my car it hits me. The smell is terrible.

I know the feeling, but I used granite rocks. My dad is from a ranch in Montana, I used to have to go up there and build stuff. Then I was a Marine and things were so easy....
